Free financial ratio templates

Every calculator on this site is also available as a spreadsheet you can keep, change and share. The templates use the same formulas as the calculators, open with worked examples, and work in Excel and in Google Sheets. There is no sign-up and no email address to give: each link downloads the file.

Spreadsheet templates

Using a template in Google Sheets

  1. Download the template.
  2. Open Google Sheets and choose File, then Import, then Upload, and select the file. You can also upload it to Google Drive and open it with Google Sheets.
  3. Choose “Create new spreadsheet”. The formulas, the industry list and the links all carry over.

How the templates work

  • Yellow cells are inputs. Replace the example figures with your own; everything else recalculates.
  • Green cells are results. Each one is a visible formula, so you can check it, copy it or change it.
  • The same definitions as the calculators. The formulas are generated from the definitions behind the calculators on this site, and every result is checked against them before release.
  • A link to each explanation. Every ratio links to its page here, which says what the result means and what it does not show.
  • No macros. The files contain formulas only, so they open without security warnings.

Printable practice worksheets
